Merrick Bernstein

Merrick Bernstein is the founder and CEO of Dragonfly Legal, based in Durham, NC. A recognized expert in global negotiations, Merrick has experience both as a corporate business executive and a lawyer.  Merrick also lectures on comparative international negotiations at the Duke University School of Law and is a Certified Mediator, specializing in business and technology disputes.

Before starting Dragonfly, Merrick worked at Lenovo, the China-based global consumer electronics company. At Lenovo, Merrick developed strategy, led negotiations, and managed the subsequent execution for numerous, multi-billion dollar acquisitions, as well as complex IT and technology transactions. He also founded the Vendor & Contract Management function at Lenovo, helping its leadership manage hundreds of millions of dollars in vendor and partner spend with the world’s largest IT vendors. 

Prior to Lenovo, Merrick was an attorney with the technology division of McKesson. There, he was responsible for customer and partner contracting, as well as providing legal advice on the intersection of the healthcare and technology industries.  Merrick had previously worked as outside counsel in the technology boutique firm of Morris, Manning & Martin in Atlanta.

Merrick lives in Durham, North Carolina with his wife and two boys.
